Senior Facility Manager, DOT Shuttle Operations

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Salary: $70,000 -$75,000

Job Function – Responsible for the daily management of DOT-regulated shuttle operation, all special projects, and for ensuring that parking garages and shuttle operations are handled within contractual guidelines of the specific location. Ensure that all accounts operate in accordance with client goals and initiatives as well as GPS goals and initiatives. Work closely with all aspects of the operation to ensure fluid, seamless delivery of services to our client and customers alike.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Operational Effectiveness

· Directs, manages and coordinates day-to-day activities of all managers, supervisors, dispatchers and shuttle bus drivers, as well as any contract personnel to ensure proper facility operation.

· Ensure that GPS is compliant with all DOT regulations pertaining to safety sensitive positions.

· Ensure that all locations within the facility open and close at the specified times.

· Ensure the prompt completion of daily paperwork for facility.

· Oversee and manage 3rd party vendors under contract at the facility location.

· Responsible for implementing safety program in accordance with established policies and procedures and OSHA guidelines.

· Oversee and manage all service and shuttle vehicles, including fleet maintenance, vehicle registrations, vehicle appearance, and issuance of gas cards.

· Establish operating manuals and update existing operating manuals as needed.

· Identify all existing and potential operational problems and make appropriate recommendations to General Manager. Inspect and recommend improvements to upgrade the appearance and cleanliness of all garages and facilities.

· Review maintenance programs at the location. Work with staff to make appropriate adjustments/improvements.

· Provide a mandatory and prompt response to emergency situations during normally scheduled "off duty hours".

· Review, originate and evaluate priorities for all non-routine assignments in accordance with established procedures.

· Complete special projects such as large-scale painting, power washing, concrete repair, etc. will require this position to bid, receive, evaluate, interview and make recommendations based on received bids on an ad hoc basis.

· Perform other functions and duties as required for the safe and efficient operation of the facility as needed.

Talent Acquisition and Management

· Develop, staff, train, and supervise a team of employees at all facilities within the Operations.

· Identify proper staffing levels for all operations personnel, including vacation and sick call coverage.

· Audit and develop remedial training where necessary.

· Uphold all company policies and procedures as stated in the employee handbook, including compliance with any applicable union rules, terms and conditions.

· Review disciplinary actions taken for any procedural violation or possible theft uncovered as a result of a field audit, which is to result in disciplinary action against the offending employee or employees.

· Participate in the formal employee grievance procedures to ensure fairness and consistency of policy application.

· Interview and screen candidates for positions being filled.

Financial Planning and Budget Management

· Evaluate and develop plans to increase bottom line profit to our clients by either increasing revenues or minimizing expenses.

· Supervise safe handling of cash and the timely deposit of cash for the facility.

· Ensure that proper revenue trails are established for all transactions. This is to include proper ticket control, control over monthly permits and validations stamps, and the accurate maintenance of triplicate receipts, card lists and card key deposits and inventories.

Client Retention and Satisfaction

· Function as liaison between the management team and executive staff as necessary.

· Maintain effective relationships with all field employees, customers and corporate staff.

· Resolve client and customer issues, requests and concerns promptly and diplomatically.

· Communicate regularly with airport and joint venture partnership to establish operational goals and performance levels.

· Minimum of eight-ten years transportation experience with multiple location parking management strongly preferred.

· Minimum of three years experience managing other supervisory personnel.

· Minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

· General understanding of financial statements and budgeting a plus.

· License Requirement: Per DOT Regulations, possess and maintain a valid CDL Class A, B or C Driver’s License with Passenger Endorsement capacity of 15 passengers or more.

· DOT Medical Card: A Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT Medical Card) is required.

· Availability of Work: Special shift requirements, if any, will vary depending on operational needs. If applicable, availability to work 2nd shift, 3rd shift and/or weekends may be required.

Key Skills/Attributes

· Strong analytical and interpersonal communication skills are a must. Must have working knowledge of computer systems and prior exposure to personal computers (Excel, Word, AS/400 and Outlook).

· Strong leadership skills, ability to manage a diverse workforce.

· Ability to communicate effectively in English.

· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, evaluate situations, set priorities and respond to issues in timely manner.

· Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
